CWDI Meeting Notes – October 8, 2026, submitted by Sharon Smith, CAN
CWDI held its monthly Board of Directors meeting in Council Chambers at 4pm.
The meeting was attended by board members Angie Hengst (Chair), Tim Crosby, Don Murphy (new member), Gaver Nichols – online, and Carol Baker. Also, Jerry Jones, county manager, and Tracy Wolf (CAO).
The original Port Transfer Agreement is being amended to recognize the use of a marketing firm, MacKenzie (same report as last month.)
The agreement with the hotelier, Pinnacle, has been finalized and will be signed next week, October 16th. A press release is planned.
To deal with the high cost of infrastructure for the site, the costs will be broken down project by project to allow a more pay-as-you-go approach. The infrastructure for the hotel is estimated at $2.4M. A grant from State Department of Housing & Community Development (DCHP) is in the works.
MacKenzie, the marketing firm, has seen an uptick in interest in the property. There are 12 prospects interested in developing Cambridge Harbor, a few of whom are master developers.
