CALL FOR NOMINATIONS TO CAN BOARD
Habitat Choptank Outreach
I am reaching out because Habitat Choptank’s Repair Program is looking for volunteers for a few support activities and I’m hopeful that there may be a few members of CAN interested in some of the volunteer opportunities available.
In addition to repair work on homes, we really need individuals that can accompany our Critical Home Repair Manager to homes when he is doing a scope of work and overall assessment. No experience is required……no long term commitment…in Cambridge….an average of about an hour for each volunteer opportunity.
The goal for the volunteer is to engage the client …get to know him or her….and to serve as a caring member of the community during the visit. If volunteers want to get even more involved, they can then choose to serve as a support coach for a homeowner while they are engaged with Habitat by answering community or resource questions they might have, and simply encouraging them in their life’s journey.
Attached is a flyer describing the program in more detail. Please let me know how we could best share this with the CAN network…Happy to meet over a cup of coffee if you want to discuss further.
Best,
JoAnn Hansen
